we’re always in such a hurry
running here and there
don’t stop to smell the turkey
quick, fast, make haste, scurry
so let’s make it an official rule
do only one holiday at a time
pause, savor, appreciate
our time before the yule
but now that thanksgiving is done
we can enjoy our Christmas fun
ha, i think they started promo-ing christmas in march this year....smiles..
ReplyDeletei def think we should learn to pause a whole lot more
hope you had a great thanksgiving vanessa
Yep FINALLY!!!!
ReplyDeleteNow I can get into the hoopla in a timely manner.
Loved your "Hurry Up And Get T-Day Over' 55
Thanks for playing, LOVED your sketch Vanessa...Very Cool!
Have a Kick Ass Week-End
I totally agree with you!
ReplyDeleteFor years now they've pretty well started setting up Christmas decorations right after Halloween. Of course in the Netherworld, we have Xmahannukwanzyule, which pretty well takes care of the whole shebang!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right. We always waited until after my daughter's b'day on Dec. 6 to put up Christmas decorations so her day was undiluted.
ReplyDeleteWe crowd Christmas into Thanksgiving so it doesn't feel like Thanksgiving gets its due anymore. We hardly had time to smell the turkey before some were up and leaving to "shop". I know, I'm cranky, but I'll be ready for Christmas planning after today. The tree and the baking are my favorite things. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMy own personal rule is December 1st is the beginning of the Christmas season. Up until that day is still Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great one, my lovely!
