Snoogs, my daughter gave me roses for Mother's Day.
She knows green is my favorite color so
she got white roses and put them in green water.
The extra effort to make them special just for me
made them a perfect gift.

oh cool...what a cool thought as well knowing green was your fav color...what a cool transformation in them...smiles...happy belated mothers day!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun watching the petals get greener.
DeleteShe inherited your magic! :-)
ReplyDeleteAloha
She's a clever girl.
DeleteBeautiful, and it worked very well!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy looking at them.
DeleteRoses are so pretty. Too bad they don't last longer.
ReplyDeleteWe don't usually do cut flowers for that reason.
DeleteBut I like how your daughter turned yours green. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice idea.
DeleteWe used to do this with celery to show osmotic transfer.I didn't know it would work with roses but, why not. Very nice
ReplyDeleteIsn't celery already green? :)
DeleteI have to look up osmotic transfer so I know what it is.
Come to think of it, celery is green! A chuckle ensues. . .
DeleteI suspect that we used red dye in the water for our demonstration.
Osmotic transfer is what allows water to reach the tops of the trees to keep the leaves green. Its a capillary-action type of thing.
Cool. I may do the red die in celery for my grandson.
DeleteThey came out pretty, too. In my book, everything counts.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, of course. :)
DeleteThat's pretty cool. Good trick for St. Patrick's day, too.
ReplyDeleteGood idea.
